Conventional SMS and push notifications often no longer reach their target. Rich Communication Services (RCS) are an innovative solution that can change the way companies communicate. Together with our partner Vonage, we presented it in more detail in a webinar using specific use cases.

Compared to SMS, RCS offers enhanced possibilities for communication between companies and their customers. With this technology, messages can be enriched with images, videos and interactive elements so that they can not only be read, but also experienced.

The advantages of RCS include

  • Interactivity: integrated call-to-action buttons enable immediate customer reactions.
  • Rich media: Photos, videos and other media content are sent directly in the messages.
  • Stronger customer loyalty: Personalised and appealing communication ensures better customer loyalty.

RCS has already been available to users of Android devices for some time as part of the Messages app. What is new, however, is that iPhone owners will also be able to be reached via the RCS channel from mid-September 2024, as RCS is integrated into the Messages app in the upcoming iOS 18. This means that 62 million users in Germany alone can be reached via RCS, which gives a whole new dimension to corresponding service offers and marketing campaigns.
